Phase 4 of the restoration - New Engine

In preporation for the new engine I was about to build, I stated to work on fabrication of an expoxy resin fiberglass cooling shroud to replace the factory cooling system. I purchased CNC machined Aluminum mounts for an oil cooler and Porsche 911 cooling fan/alternator and began making the shroud.

Here you can see the setup bolted onto my old engine, and all the form work was mad up using cardboard and brown packaging tape. This was to act as a mould for the epoxy fiberglass shroud that would be formed over it.

As the epoxy doesn't stick to the packaging tape it comes away very easily from the fiberglass when I separated the mould from the shroud.
