Originally the car was purchased by my parents while I was out of town for $2000. They told me that it would be a cheap car to run, and its better than not having a car at all. When I first saw the car I thought what a piece of shit. But somewhere along the way I got a few copies of the HOT VW magazine, and then the dreams of tuning it into a customized street VW started. Here it was. Faded birch green, Stock drum brakes, tired stock suspension, tired 1200cc stock engine, nearly worn out gearbox. Not the ideal car to choose to restore..... But anyway, we live to learn.
